According to Linda Tarr-Whelan’s book WOMEN LEAD THE WAY (which was named one of Booklist’s TOP 10 business books in 2010), “women’s priorities continue to be overlooked and organizations miss out on the new perspectives and fresh insights that women might bring into an organization.

Dr. Andrea Hayes-Jordan stepped up to LEADERSHIP as she is the first Black Board Certified Female Pediatric Surgeon in the US.
Interestingly, she had 2 programs tell her NO before one finally “Took a chance on a Black Woman“.
Yes she was told that programs didn’t want to take a chance on a Black Woman.
She later on went to become the ONLY PERSON worldwide to perform a surgery on children that increased their survival rate from 15% to 60-70%.
This is what happens when you take a chance and step up to Leadership
